Recently we have had a cute mother bird take retreat on our house. She built this really intricate nest and has been constantly sitting on her nest. Then one day, there they were. Three little bird poking their heads out. They must have been there a while before, but we just did not notice. The next day, Eric came and woke me up because Daisy had found one of the birds on the ground and was chasing it across the yard. The other two birds were nowhere to be found. So, Eric put on some gloves and put the bird back in the nest. The mother bird was close giving us a piece of her mind and every time we came to check on the bird. I was afraid that the bird might fall again, but this time to its death. The bird was perching on the side of the nest and looked a little sad. I was sad also for it because I felt that the bird was alone without its siblings.
When I came to check on it at lunch time it was gone. I searched the yard just in case it did not make it, but it was not there. The bird finally succeeded. Since then I have been seeing some birds hang around on the fence and hoped that these were the birds coming to see what used to be their home.
Momma Bird was always nearby to keep a watch over her little ones.

What a neat thing to view. Our neighbors have a birds nest that she uses every summer. My girls love to watch them eat from their mom's mouth.
How special. My father and now my sister are big bird watchers.
